Ceramic sharpening rods are used to maintain the edge of the blade between whetstone sharpening. We recommend using this ceramic rod regularly to ensure your blade remains razor-sharp and free of burrs. This ceramic sharpening rod will not sharpen your knife if it is completely blunt or damaged as it is more of a maintenance tool. To repair damaged knives, we strongly recommend the use of a whetstone. Global knives are sharpened at a 15-degree angle in the factory, and we recommend sharpening at this angle for best results.
